Spicy Thai Cafe

Yaukwees' Dinner @ Spicy Thai - Thai Cafe

A cozy authentic Thai food eatery nestled in a quiet corner of Aljunied Avenue 2 away from the hustle & bustle of the town center nearby.
The gastronomically satisfied and half drunk faces of Dick Lee, who initialed and generously hosted this gathering, Phillip Lim, Richard Lim & William Lim.
Standing between Dick and Phillip is Ron Poh, he is the owner of Spicy Thai Cafe.
The beautiful frontage of this restaurant displays an altar of King Rama V. This beloved King of Siam reigned from 01October 1868 to 23October 1910. He became the country's greatest patriarch with no less than 77 children (44 girls & 33 boys) to be exact.
During his 42 years reign, he established a government based on the western system. Reformed the law, introduced compulsory military service and the Baht currency & set up the first westernized hospital.
Lala Beehoon:
This dish is very tasty. It is served piping hot and the beehoon soaked in the flavor of the clams is out of this world.
Chicken Green Curry:
This dish is well prepared with the right combination of spices and the ingredients are very fresh.
BBQ Pork Neck:
The meat is very tender and juicy. Well marinated and taste good.

BBQ Prawns:
This dish contains five giant sea prawns. They were very fresh, well grilled yet maintaining the juiciness in the meat.
Thai Walking Catfish with Spicy Lemon Soup:
This steamed fish is served over charcoal flame is very interesting and simply delicious. The flesh is very smooth and a huge bowl of broth is accompanied for topping up.

Crispy Kangkong:
Very interesting dish. Fresh and super crispy. Taste nice on its own but even better with Ron's specially concocted spicy dip.

This eatery serves authentic Thai food and it is a good choice for all food lovers and diners to consider. Moreover the ambience is homely and an experience to dine under the stars on a breezy clear night. Best of all, the price of the food is reasonable and the food is delicious.

Dick initiated this gathering of primary school classmates on 29th April 2015. He managed to gather seven of us (photo above) for dinner at Le Chasseur, which specializes in Claypot Rice, Pork Knuckles and other cze cha dishes.

We met at this eatery around 7.45pm. It was a cool night after the afternoon heavy downpour and the night started off with a few bottles of beer, red wine and whisky. The above dishes were well cooked and delicious. As usual, it did not take us long to empty all the plates. Dick insisted that we must finish all the wine and whisky before we leave, and so we did gladly.

We had a great time reminiscing our childhood days and recalling long lost friends. The conversation was also filled with endless jokes and laughter. Before we knew it, the stalls were closing for the night and we had to leave. Good thing we managed to bottoms up all the bottles of wine & whisky before closing time.

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Dick not only for organizing this makan session, but also footing the bill.

Not sharing the cost, you made us all so paiseh! Next time cannot like that one, okay!

Yaukwees' Seafood Dinner @ Ban Leong Wah Hoe Seafood Restaurant, 122 Casuarina Road

First and foremost, William Lim, Phillip Lim and Richard Lim like to thank Dick Lee for this wonderful dinner.

This gathering was prearranged a couple of weeks ago. The atmosphere at 122 Casuarina Road was comfortably cool and breezy especially after the evening rain.

Our boss ordered the above dishes. He knows best as he had been there on a few occasion. It was a good selection and we enjoyed the sumptuous food. He also brought a bottle of Sandalford Red Wine to celebrate this gathering.

What's most important is that we cherish the company of one another. As Michaelians & Josephians, we are truly proud of it.

Richard Lim's 60th Birthday Celebration

Buffet Lunch @ Buffet City Restaurant
(Inside Tanjong Pagar Community Club)

Yesterday, 25th November 2014 was Richard's 60th Birthday.  Today, we celebrated this eventful day of him crossing from an adult to a senior citizen (Welcome to the Senior Citizens' Club, bro!) by having a jolly good time at this eatery.

This place has a nice ambience and serves a variety of Local & International dishes.
Weekday lunch: $26.80+ (Adults)     $19.90+ (Senior Citizen till end of Jan 2015 only)
Operating Hours: 11.00am to 2.30pm

Only regret we had was, there's no sashimi. However, the other seafood compensated for it.

We look forward to your comments.
